AUDREY SACKETT has been praised as a “bright, energetic, and lovely soprano” and “a delight to hear” (Oregon Music News). Equally at home in musical theater and opera, Ms. Sackett has played the roles of Kim in Bye Bye Birdie, Lily in The Secret Garden, and Sarah Brown in Guys and Dolls. Ms. Sackett’s Operatic roles include Lauretta (Gianni Schicchi), Gretel (Hansel and Gretel), Laetitia (The Old Maid and the Thief), Musetta (La Boheme,) Nannetta (Falstaff), Barbarina (Le Nozze di Figaro), Nella (Gianni Schicchi), “Little Red” in John Davies’ original opera adaptation of the fairy tale Little Red Riding Hood. Ms. Sackett's has also sung the roles of operetta ingénues Phyllis in Iolanthe, Casilda in The Gondoliers, and the title role in Patience, all by Gilbert and Sullivan. On the concert stage, Ms. Sackett has also been a featured soloist in Carl Orff’s Carmina Burana, Handel’s L’Allegro, il Penseroso ed il Moderato, and Handel’s Messiah.
When not performing, Ms. Sackett is a passionate and creative music educator specializing in early childhood music education."Teacher Audrey" works with Music Together of Portland (musictogether-pdx.com), Wee Works Preschool (weeworkspdx.com), supplies music education for grades 1-5 at Creative Science School (creativescienceschool.org), and runs her own studio of voice and piano students.
